What is LMS And How It Will Help

LMS stands short for Learning Management System.

Learning, because you use it to deliver education courses or training programs.

Management, because it helps you organize these courses (create them, change them, assign them to students, grade them, etc).

An LMS can be used by a variety of small, medium, and large-sized organizations where various stakeholders need continuous training. In today’s world, online training is more suitable and effective than traditional classroom training.

The first fully-featured Learning Management System (LMS) was called EKKO, developed and released by Norway’s NKI Distance Education Network in 1991. Three years later, New Brunswick ‘s NB Learning Network presented a similar system designed for DOS-based teaching, and devoted exclusively to business learners.

While an education LMS is mostly designed for schools, a corporate organization can still use it. Likewise, an educational institution may choose a corporate LMS if that better fits its needs. At the end of the day, it all comes down to which LMS software is a better companion to your learning programs.
